We are located at the south coast of Crete in the district of Rethymnon: there’s the Libyan Sea in front of us, behind us there are hills and mountains, to both sides there are beautiful beaches and inviting bays.

The first beach is just a few steps away from the hotel. The property is located about 100m outside the village of Plakias on the way to ‘Souda Beach’. By foot it’s only a few minutes to go to the centre while passing tavernas, shops and the tiny harbour of Plakias. Rooms have balcony with direct sea view stretching from Plakias and its bay to the island of Gavdos and beyond.

We had a room with a sea view! Although it's not yet the high season, we had
very prompt and good service. Very clean and comfortable rooms! The
best mattress I've ever slept on! The beach is right below and
the cafes and everything else you need is right next door.

Hotel is in perfect location with amazing sea view and direct access to the
beach. Just a short walk away till the centre of Plakias with a lot of shops and
restaurants. The staff were friendly and caring. Room was clean with a small
kitchen and had balcony with sea view.

I’ve returned to Creta Mare Hotel for the second time with my painting retreat, and it truly feels like coming
home. The location is perfect – peaceful, with sea views and direct access to the
beach, yet just a 2-minute walk from the center of Plakias. You hear the waves,
not the town.
The staff are wonderful – warm, caring, like family. Rooms are clean, breakfasts
on the terrace are delightful, and every time we come, the hotel feels even better.
Can’t wait to return again!

This was an unexpected find in a very quiet city on the south shore of Crete. The
rooms are big and very clean. Strong wifi. Great view. A very nice breakfast and
the staff are amazing people. They also have a small private beach with trees
where u can hide during noon. Very quiet place and a plethora of taverns where
you can eat and watch the sunset nearby. They also have parking available.
